Rural Charm at the LaRue Wellness Farm
Explore what we are planning
Kayaks and canoes are available for use from 5:30am to 9:30pm daily.
There is no renting — yet. To ease future implementation on the website, we went ahead and added a ‘Rent button’ to expedite “going live” when ready.
A rustic retreat is taking shape at LaRue Street Wellness Farm in rural West Virginia. We’re pouring our heart and soul into transforming our historic farmhouse into a cozy bed and breakfast that blends rustic charm with some modern comfort, such as running water and bathrooms. Presently, we have a functioning deluxe outhouse.
Relax on the porch by Middle Island Creek, forge trails, or help tend to our vibrant vegetable garden. Sign up to learn of our renovation progress and upcoming wellness workshops. We are working hard to create a sanctuary for relaxation and renewal!
Your rustic escape awaits—stay connected.
Ten yards from the house you can start your hiking journey up a West Virginia mountain. Ramble up to 1,000 feet plus.
In the future we may need to know how many people are on the mountain so we went ahead and built-in a future collection point. i.e. the button is not live.
Embrace tranquility sitting on the cozy porch overlooking Middle Island Creek, walking the farm grounds, or working in the vegetable garden. Immerse yourself in nature’s calming embrace, where intentional wellness experiences—grounded in the science of relaxation—nurture your mind, body, and spirit.
As we craft this sanctuary join us to shape a haven for renewal. Share your email address to receive updates on our progress creating cozy guest rooms to mindfulness retreats.
Your journey to serenity starts here—stay connected!"
Wellness is not public yet, but we planned ahead by adding this below button.
Who we are
In 1790, brothers Isaac and Jacob LaRue became the first settlers to call this beautiful stretch of West Virginia hillside home. Along the banks of the Middle Island Creek, they carved out their new life from the wilderness and later supported the Revolutionary War effort by providing meat to the Continental soldiers.
More than two centuries later, their legacy of hospitality, hard work, and connection to the land continues. As a direct descendant of the LaRue family, I'm honored to welcome you to the same grounds where my ancestors. Today, this historic farmland is being lovingly transformed into a place where you can find your own path to wellness and renewal.
The LaRue family tradition of opening our doors to others lives on as a sanctuary for rest, reflection, and reconnection with nature. When you stay here, you're not just visiting a retreat; you are reconnecting with nature and yourself.
